Poetry's Bend

I have been actively involved in Belgian Sheepdogs since the purchase of my first boy Kodar's Idea of Perfection RN, BN, CGC Instinct Tested aka "Blaze" in June of 2013. I have been Mentored by Long Time Belgian Breeder  and BSCA Judges Mentor Julia Fiechter of Morningstar BSD's and have had the honor of presenting GCH Morningstar's Zack BN, RA, CD in the  the  AKC Breed Ring from 2014-2021. Those years included a  Best Of Opposite in Veteran Sweeps at the 2017 BSCA National Specialty.  I have helped other breeders at times putting many points and majors on BSD's and other Herding Breeds. I also handled CH Morningstar's Romeo through most of his CH which included 1St Place Open Dog at the 2019 BSCA National and WD/BW BSCA Regional Specialty in 2020.

I served as the Belgian Sheepdog AKC Gazette Columnist form September 2019 - March of 2023. It was a wonderful experience being able to share my love and knowledge of the Belgian Sheepdog with readers.

My goal as a breeder is to produce healthy and stable Belgian Sheepdog that exudes strong Breed Type. With much support from Long Time BIS Breeder Heike Wehrle trusted me with "Alonna" when she was just 12 weeks of age. Alonna is now GCH CH. Inchallah's Alonna of Poetry's Bend CGCA TKN ACT2 FMD DNX NAP NJP NFP FMD who finished at 16 months of age with 3 majors and a BOS and BOB over Specials from the classes. Alonna is as smart as she is beautiful and made her AKC Agility Debut in the Spring of 2019. At her 2nd Trial Alonna earned the Reserve High In Trial - Trial 1 at the 2019 BSCA National Specialty. Alonna has earned invites for her 1st places qualifier finishes in Novice Distance Jumping in both 2018 & 2019 to the North American Diving Dogs National Championship held in Orlando, FL each December. Alonna completed her Novice Agility Preferred Standard, Jumpers and Fast Titles with all 1st places an one 2nd place. In 2020 Alonna completed her Dock Novice Excellent Title marking her 55th competition jump and an invite to the NADD 2020 Regionals which replace Nationals for 2020. In 2021, after her 1st litter Alonna returned to the breed ring briefly earning  1st AOM at Westminster under respected Breeder Judge Sharon Ann Redmer.  It's been a really fun ride with this girl and I am very much grateful for her two wonderful litters she has given us. These two litters have included multiple performance HIT's as well as Champions and two Group placers. My heart dog Alonna is now 7 years old and retired from breeding and enjoys being the top girl around our home.

In 2023 after the loss at age 9 of my husband's Doberman AKC PAL registered Perfection's Approach To Shenandoah RE CGC TKN we decided to venture into the world of bird dogs. My husband in his own research over 3 years determined that a German Shorthaired Pointer was the breed for him. Through a mutual friend we were introduced to Sharon Davies of Steinhoff Pointers EST 1969. My initial intent was to get my husband a hunting dog he could also compete in obedience and rally with. In short, I also fell in love with the outgoing nature of the GSP. I also found a wonderful friend and  mentor in Sharon. We currently own and live with Steinhoff's Earth Moon N Mirv aka Mirv.  I co-own residing with breeder/owner Sharon,  CH Steinhoff's Over The Moon and CH Steinhoff's The Skye's The Limit JH. It was been a huge honor to be welcomed into the Steinhoff legacy and we are  looking forward to what the future holds.
